I submitted an application including a request for help with utilities or I got my rental assistance money already, but need more help paying rent and/or utilities.


Here's how it works:

Log back into your application:

In the right column under Requested Assistance, you’ll see the number of months you requested rental assistance for.

Assistance provided through this process is calculated in time (months), not money. You can get up to 15 months of total assistance.

Click or tap “Apply.”

We’ve included the months we think you may need help paying based on your rental assistance request.

You can request utility assistance for additional months, but this will reduce the number of months you can get rent money.

This may be confusing so here is an example:
Say you already got money to pay rent in January, February, March, and April 2021.

15 months – 4 months of rent = 11 months left to get assistance

Now, you’re asking for your gas bill to be paid for October, November and December 2020.

15 months – 4 months of rent – 3 months of gas bills = 8 months left to get assistance

Please type in all utility details including the name of the utility company, the account number and the name on the account even if you uploaded bills. Utilities don’t have to be in your name.

Someone will log into your application with you on the phone and complete the utility portion of the application on your behalf.

I have not applied for Allegheny County Emergency Rental Assistance yet.
